Arata Road Construction Project Update: Tree Removal and Utility Relocation
The start of project construction is just around the corner with planned work starting this April. There will be a contractor removing trees prior to March 1st. This work will last about 5 days with weather permitting. The trees are being removed early to avoid conflict with the bird nesting season. You can expect some delays and impacts to traffic on Arata Road during the tree removal activities.
Additionally, Portland General Electric (PGE) will be starting utility relocation March 13th. That work will consist of pole relocation. Once PGE has moved the poles and has switched the lines to the new poles, other utility providers will follow up with moving the communication lines to the new poles. After all of the lines have been moved PGE will then come in and remove the old poles. This work will take four to five weeks with weather permitting. Traffic will be disrupted on Arata road during this work. Expect single lane of traffic and flaggers.
